Chef Hala

Hers is a name you may have seen on TV or splashed across billboards, but do you know the woman behind the food?

Meet Chef Hala Ayash, a Syrian foodie who has taken her passion for a healthy lifestyle and Middle Eastern flavours and transformed it into an inspiring career. Born in Saudi and now living in Dubai Chef Hala has always drawn great inspiration from the region.

In 2003, after the birth of her daughter, Chef Hala found herself drawn towards healthy cooking. As a mother she knew that being able to provide delicious healthy meals for her family was paramount and so she jumped, with both feet into the world of food. It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with Mediterranean cuisine. Chef Hala believes “the title of chef is earned by training and hard work, it’s not just about the passion, it’s a profession,” so she took courses in Spain, Italy, and France and attended the International Centre for Culinary Arts in Dubai before earning the accolade of professional chef.

It wasn’t long before this star chef made her television debut on Top Chef Arabia on MBC where she finished 1st runner up in season one of the popular show. From there she became a regular on the network’s morning show Sabah Al Kheir Ya Arab show hosting the daily cooking segment and inspiring the audience to get into their kitchens and cook up fresh, vibrant, delicious meals.
When she’s not cooking or scoping out the stores for the freshest ingredients, Chef Hala always makes time for fitness; “I’m a healthy person who believe in a healthy lifestyle rather than choosing a diet” says Hala, who is also a certified personal trainer. Back in the kitchen Chef Hala is known for her healthy Mediterranean & Levantine cuisine, but her favourite things to whip up include Spanish Paella and Italian pastas inspired by her travels.

We’ve teamed up with the inspirational social foodie to create a fantastic, healthy meal plan packed with classic Chef Hala recipes putting a truly Kcal twist on Levantine cuisine. For more information check out the plan here
