1. What is Kcal?

Pronounced kay-cal. We are an innovative food company making a sustainable, healthy lifestyle possible, without compromising on taste or convenience.

We are chefs, nutritionists, food experts, gym goers, latte drinkers, dessert eaters, life lovers; we offer wheat free, dairy free, meat free, sugar free, but never taste free.

Offering a menu that boasts a selection of dishes which are calorie controlled and inspired by our multicultural hometown, Dubai, our mission is simple: to make the world a better place through wholesome, tasty food and outstanding service. We cook with passion and your health in mind and we never compromise.

2. What is the story behind Kcal?

In 2010, Mark Carroll and Andreas L Borgmann opened their first Kcal restaurant in Jumeirah Lakes Towers. They were, and still are, on a mission to prove that “healthy” is so much more than just the calorie count. It’s about getting up, getting moving, being positive and making lasting lifestyle changes.
Since then, our story has continued and we have been at the forefront of healthy eating in Dubai, forging the way for others who have followed. Our restaurant family has grown from one outlet in JLT to locations all over the UAE and beyond.

3. Do you provide meal plans?

We don’t offer meal plans but our sister company Kcal Extra does. Find out more here.

1. How many restaurants do you have?

At the moment we have 6 restaurants. There are 5 in Dubai, JLT – where it all started, as well as branches in Business Bay, Mirdif, Motor City and now Dubai Healthcare City.

Then, there is our branch in the capital in Al Mamoura.

2. What are your opening hours?

We are open 7 days a week. Opening and closing times depend on the restaurant’s location.

ORDERING

1. How can I order?

We know that when the hanger starts to creep in, you want your food ASAP so we’ve made ordering as simple as possible. Simply click ORDER NOW on the website, select whatever tickles your fancy and make your order – you can pay online or on delivery, it’s up to you.

2. What are your delivery times?

We deliver to you every day! Delivery times depend on your nearest branch.

3. What are the payment options?

If you order online you can pay with a credit or debit card through the website, Visa Checkout or you can choose pay with cash when your delivery arrives.

If you’re dining in, all of our restaurants accept cash and card or you can use the Payit App to settle your bill.

4. Can I place orders in advance?

You can place your order in advance but only on the same day if you order online. If you want to schedule your order for another day, call our call center at 600 5959 55 and your lovely sales representatives will support you.

Alternatively we have the Weekly Order option which allows you to schedule your meals in advance. Just bear in mind that we have a 3 day minimum order and a maximum of 14, any less than this and you’ll have to order directly from the restaurant on the day you want it. Interested? 5. Can I collect my order?

Of course you can collect your order. Once you have confirmed your cart, we will ask for your delivery details. Just select the “Self pick-up” option, the branch you want to pick it up from and the time so your order will be ready when you arrive.

DELIVERY

1. What do I do if something is wrong with my order?

We have a super team that looks after your orders, from the moment you place it until it reaches your door. However, we understand that sometimes things might go wrong. In that case case, contact us at talktous@kcallife.com or at 600 5959 55.

2. Can I add something to my order?

Once your order is placed, you can’t modify it. However, you can contact our team on 600 5959 55 who will do their best to make sure you get all the items you wanted. If the driver is already on their way, the additional items will be considered as new order and delivery charges will apply.

3. How long does it usually take to get my food delivered?

We do our best to deliver it to you in 45min from the moment the order is placed. However, sometimes things outside of our driver’s control can cause a delay. If it happens, when possible, we will get in touch with you to inform you whilst doing everything we can to get it delivered as soon as possible.

4. What if I’m not around when my order arrives?

If you think you won’t be at the delivery address in time to receive your order, call us on 600 5959 55 and we will inform the driver or restaurant to hold your order. If the driver gets there before you, he will give you a call. If he can’t get hold of you, our Customer Service team will try to get in touch. If we can’t contact you either and are unable to deliver the order, our driver will leave and we will have to charge you for your order.

5. Where does Kcal deliver?

We deliver to most areas of Dubai, from Dubai Investment Park up to Garhoud, from Jumeirah to Silicon Oasis. We also deliver in Abu Dhabi and Kuwait City. If you want to see the full delivery area of each branch, click here and then on “delivery zone”.

6. What is the minimum order amount per delivery?

The minimum order amount is AED 25.

7. What are the delivery charges?

Delivery charges are AED 7 per order.

FOOD INFO

1. How do you come up with healthy versions of people’s favourite dishes?

We have a bunch of expert nutritionists and chefs working on creating the most balanced and flavourful dishes. Each menu item is careful engineered and the nutritional values are calculated using the USDA database for Standard Reference, Release 27.

2. What if I have allergies?

Next to each of our menu items, you can see little icons which tell you which type of allergens they contain, these include: dairy, egg, gluten and nuts, so you know what menu items will meet your dietary needs.

3. Do you have special diet dishes?

We have loads! Vegetarian, vegan, paleo, high protein dishes, we have food for every type of diet. Read the menu item descriptions, click on the Nutritional Facts of each dish and search for the icons referring to your diets.

4. Do you serve breakfast?

Not all our restaurants serve breakfast but we are working on it! In the meantime, if you are an early bird, you can get a Kcal breakfast from our branches in JLT, Business Bay, Mirdif City Centre, Abu Dhabi and Dubai Healthcare City.

5. Can I re-heat my food when it arrives?

Yes you can and it’s recommended for some dishes like soups or mains. Your food should always arrive warm and ready to eat but sometimes, delivery might be delayed and your food may not arrive as warm as you would like it to be. All are packaging are microwavable so you can put them in the microwave for a couple of minutes or transfer them to a pan or oven dish.
